My Me
If you got a chance to look at the homepage, you will see that I am surrounded by great people! My family, my husband, my daughter, my friends! And really, my relationship with them is the meat and potatoes of who I am, what I am about and why I am about. I think what they all have in common is that I know they love me and those who can pray, pray for me! If you are surrounded by love and prayer, guess what? You are blessed!
Right now, I'm busy up to my eye balls with work, volunteer work, moderatoring a book club, and being a wife and a mother, much less a friend! It's crazy. But it's good crazy.
Work: I work for GTRI as a Research Scientist in the field of computer science. Mainly I do research having to do with Natural Language processing of archival records. I am interested in using data mining and storytelling to grab the information that can't be extracted from just piles of memos and such. We'll see!!
Volunteer work: I am a co-advisor to the Minorities in Computer Science student group at Georgia Tech. I love working with them bc we work at getting and retaining Minorities in CS and they are just a bunch of bright and motivated people!! they continually impress me!! Outside of working with the college students we also do a highschool outreach program that talks ot highschool students about computer science and attending tech, plus we volunteer for Cool Girls! Cool Girls is a group that takes minority middle school girls and teaches them about computers every 3rd weekend of the month. It's really great!
Book club: Our book club is awesome!!! I am just crazy about the girls in my club, we are all so different but we love reading! It's my sanity outlet really.
