Second Ultrasound

These pictures were taken during our second ultrasound on May 7th. Joni is 19week 4 days. The whole experience was amazing. The nurse asked which one of us was the hyper one because Joni was moving all over the place! We saw her face, her arms, her legs, her shoulders, her feet, her heart, her rib cage, her neck bones, everything. And everything was just perfect!

This appointment was a very big deal in that the Dr would be looking for abnormalities of the heart, liver, kidneys and other major organs. Everything looked good and clear. Joni's heartbeat was at 144 a minute and her heart looked great.

And if you haven't noticed, Joni is a girl. And we checked SEVERAL times!

The pictures below are from a long session with the ultrasound machine. After talking to the doctor, he let us go back for another one and record it. You can see an unedited quicktime movie of it in either sane size (10MB) or fast connection size (60MB). Eventually, we'll shorten it and add a voiceover to explain parts. The most interesting thing to note is that Joni didn't move as much in this movie. In the session from which the pictures below are taken she was all over the place. One reason it took so long is because she wouldn't sit still. We have an active little girl.

Joni's face - Frontal
In this picture you can see Joni's face, her head is tilted to the right. You can see her two
eye sockets, her nose, her mouth and her arm.

Joni's profile
In this picture you can see Joni's profile. Her forehead, nose, upper and lower lip, her
neck and upper torso. I think she has her Daddy's nose.

Underneath Joni.
As if she is sitting on a glass chair and we were under the chair.
We are essentially looking at her bottom and under thighs and she is facing to the right.
If you see 3 white lines from this position, it's a girl. If you see other extra things...it's not.
As you may or may not be able to decipher: it's a girl!!!
