Weeks 4 through 12

Week 11
Motherhood Maternity becomes the hot spot for clothing shopping. Forget about Gap and the lastest spring fashions, all I want to know is does it STRETCH ?

Week 10
Mommy and Daddy Isbell go into the Dr's office after Mommy Isbell has been having sharp back pains for the past week. These pains run from her back down her legs, making walking and getting up difficult. It turns out that she's got sciatic nerve problems. This usually doesn't manifest until the 3rd trimester, but can happen early on because of the hormone reflexin. Reflexin is reeleased into the mommy's body to help her belly stretch due to the baby's growth and can cause other muscles (like back muscles) to overstretch easily.

Dr. pats on Mommy's belly and approves of pouch. Mommy has a pouch!! Ahh!

Week 8 - February 20, 2004
Baby's first pictures. Ultrasound at Atlanta Perinatal. We saw the baby for the first time and heard his/her little heartbeat. It was fast and strong. We also saw the heartbeat. The heartbeat consisted of little flashes of white light right in the baby's chest area. The technician measured the baby to be 7w6d when we thought it should be 8w2d, but the little difference didn't mean much. Everything else measured fine and looked fine. CJ was really here and his/her heart was just beating away.

Daddy starts a baby webpage with the ultrasound pics and plans to start an account once we find out CJ's sex (not for another 12 weeks!).

Week 7
Daddy takes Mommy out to South City Kitchen to celebrate a major personal milestone passed for the baby. They celebrate even more that Valentines Day weekend.

Week 6
Dr. checkup. Blood tests look good. HCG levels look great. And Yes, you are really really for really pregnant.

Week 5
The horrible m/s (morning sickness) sets in. Except it's not really in the morning when it hits bad. It's the evening. The headaches come along for the ride. Other symptoms: Extreme fatique and crankiness (so says Daddy).

Week 4
We're having a baby?!? Yay! We're having a baby!!! Blood tests, blood tests, blood tests galore.
