Like in many cultures, it’s an African-American tradition not to cut our son’s hair until their first birthday. Cody came with a head of hair and although he shed some with the head rubbing, he kept A LOT. And it just keeps growing! It was getting a bit long for the big daily fro thing, so Ms. Jessie was the first to braid it up while he was taking a nap. I took it from there and hasn’t looked back. Managing those long locks is much easier now! Thanks, Ms. Jessie! Only thing is, I have to make sure the braids don’t look to uniform or people with think he’s a girl. Even when he’s covered in navy blue!
