Charles Gets Tenure at Georgia Tech’s College of Computing
Charles has been putting in work in the College of Computing for the last 5 years as a tenure-track assistant professor in the field of machine learning. During that time, he has been honored with awards and committee roles including:
 
William A. “gus” Baird Faculty Teacher Award
Dean’s Award for singular service to the College, Threads Leadership Team
Outstanding Junior Faculty Research Award, GT College of Computing
NSF CAREER Award, 2007
Computer Science Study Group, A DoD Young Investigator award, 2006
Chair, Provost’s Taskforce on Modularity for the Undergraduate Curriculum
Chair, College of Computing Undergraduate Curriculum Committee
and a host of other awards, grants, committees, publications, talks, etc.
 
Besides all of that, Charles is just really passionate about his research and education. It’s been a busy and rewarding 5 years - full of sacrifice, compromise and a lot of late nights and working weekends. But it’s been full of a lot of amazing opportunities and people as well.
